Abstract
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology such as ChatGPT, visual arts education is facing an unprecedented impact. The emergence of ChatGPT has changed the way of information acquisition and art creation, and has had an impact on the traditional visual arts education model. Through comprehensive analysis of relevant literature, field visits to many art colleges and interviews with teachers and students, this study explores this topic in depth. The research shows that under the impact of ChatGPT, mere skill teaching can no longer meet the needs of students to adapt to the future society. In the new era, the mission of visual arts education is to change the concept of talent training and put the cultivation of emotional experience, creative thinking and art and humanities knowledge at the core, so as to enable students to stand out in the new technological environment.
