Abstract
Due to the imbalance of urban and rural development, more and more young people in rural areas are flocking to cities for development. This not only intensifies the phenomenon of empty nesters in rural China, but also makes the old-age problems faced by rural elderly more prominent. Among them, in the aspect of old-age care, the spiritual old-age care of the rural elderly has also attracted more and more academic attention. This paper summarizes the current research on the connotation of spiritual pension, the predicament of spiritual pension for the rural elderly, the causes of spiritual pension and the corresponding countermeasures, in order to provide some theoretical references for the future research on spiritual pension for the rural elderly.
