Abstract
Western Sichuan encompasses extremely rich food culture and boasts unique Intangible Cultural Heritage resources of food and culinary skills. However, with the accelerating process of modernization and the increasingly frequent international exchanges, these precious cultural heritages are at risk of being lost, and their inheritance and international communication are also facing many difficulties. This paper focuses on the Intangible Cultural Heritage of food and culinary skills in Western Sichuan and explores the challenges and opportunities in its inheritance and international communication. By analyzing the characteristics of the food and culinary culture in Western Sichuan, it analyzes challenges such as the limitations of the current inheritance model and the insufficiency of international communication channels. At the same time, it expounds how to achieve the inheritance and international communication of the Intangible Cultural Heritage related to food and culinary skills in Western Sichuan better under the opportunities of globalization and the rise of cultural tourism, aiming to provide valuable references for its sustainable development. This will not only help protect and inherit these precious cultural heritages, but also enable them to gain wider communication and recognition globally, thereby promoting the development of cultural diversity and facilitating exchanges and mutual learning among human civilizations.
