Abstract
With the continuous rise of the new liberal arts, the status and role of aesthetic education in the field of higher education have been widely recognized. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the current situation and development of aesthetic education practice in colleges and universities in the context of new liberal arts, and to focus on the concept, background, significance and practical application of aesthetic education in colleges and universities. Through a review of the current state of research at home and abroad, this paper will also explain the special value of aesthetic education in journalism science and how to effectively implement aesthetic education in universities. Finally, a series of suggestions will be put forward to promote the sustainable development of aesthetic education practice in the context of the new liberal arts, so as to lead the sustainable development of aesthetic education practice in the context of the new liberal arts.
