Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the teacher-student relationship and mathematical literacy of medical students, as well as the mediating role of self-efficacy, so as to provide theoretical basis for improving mathematical literacy of medical students. In December 2023 to March 2024, a self-designed questionnaire was used to survey 806 medical students at a certain medical university in Shandong Province. The mathematical literacy of medical students was positively correlated with the teacher-student relationship and self-efficacy (P < 0.01). The results of the mediation model showed that the direct and indirect effects of the teacher-student relationship on mathematical literacy were significant, with the direct effect accounting for 67.35% of the total effect and the indirect effect through self-efficacy accounting for 32.65%. By establishing a good teacher-student relationship and improving the self-efficacy of medical students, their mathematical literacy can be improved.
