Abstract
With the rapid advancement of information technology, its application in college English teaching has become increasingly widespread, gradually emerging as a critical force in enhancing teaching quality and promoting educational innovation. Information technology not only enriches teaching resources but also fosters transformations in teaching methods, providing students with more flexible and personalized learning opportunities. By exploring the role of information technology in college English instruction, this paper offers a detailed analysis of the numerous challenges currently encountered in the integration of technology-assisted teaching, such as inadequacies in technical infrastructure, insufficient adaptability among teachers and students, and the limited diversity in teaching models, which have resulted in teaching outcomes falling short of expectations. In response, the article proposes a series of optimization strategies, including strengthening the construction of information technology infrastructure, improving teachers' information literacy, innovating teaching models, and diversifying teaching content. Through the implementation of these optimized measures, information technology can be more effectively integrated into the educational process, thereby significantly enhancing the overall quality and effectiveness of college English teaching and driving the development of English education towards greater efficiency and intelligence.
